    The Romans built the Temple of Bacchus, the god of wine. It’s not in Tuscany, it’s not in Rioja, it’s not in Bordeaux. It’s in Baalbek, in the Bekaa Valley of Mount Lebanon.Vineyard has begun in Lebanon as early as 300 B.C by the ancient Phoenicians.

  • Sustainable climate for growing grapes

    Known as viticulture, the Mediterranean climate is moderate to warm temperatures which consider to be substantial for winemakers, Lebanese vineyards are known with their significant sunny climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year.

  • Types of grapes varietals

    Lebanese winemakers have favoured French grapes, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Rhone varietals such as Cinsaut, Carignan and Grenache. However, Lebanon has a rich heritage of indigenous grapes which are attracting more attention: some is made from a blend of Obeideh and Merwah, while other is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Muscat, and the iconic indigenous Obeideh. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Chardonnay, Chasselas, Clairette, Gamay, Grenache, Muscat, Obaideh, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Semillon, Syrah, Ugni Blanc.

    By the meaning of exporting ratio, Lebanese wine industry has achieved a significant export records in the last 5 years, with the major export destinations are France and UK, other countries among the report like USA, UAE, Canada, Belgium and others.
